The ribeye was cooked to perfection and very flavorful, the scramble was delicious, and the pancakes were also very good! We were all satisfied with our meals. We had the ribeye breakfast, and a scramble, and my daughter had the pancakes. I really appreciated how her and her buser worked together to make sure everyone in our section was well taken care of. While our waitress was visibly busy with all of her tables, she was very attentive and offered us an amazing dining experience. I had my toddler with me, and they catered to my special request for an off menu item for her. ![]() We were seated right away, and all of the staff were warm and friendly, and extremely accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Just came across it on the way to a different restaurant after our usual spot had a long wait. We came here on a whim, hadn’t heard a thing about the place as I’m new to the area. FOUR CLAWS UP!!!! Thanks for reading my review of “Gold ‘N Silver Inn” Cafe in downtown Reno, NV. I would return, as you know what to expect. Service was excellent, our waitress came often to check on our group. The dog was good, but I’m not the biggest fan of kidney beans in chili (sorry) - the fruit was delicious. Food was familiar diner style - I didn’t want to eat another cheeseburger, so I opted for a chili cheese dog with bowl of fruit. As the con was starting up (Thursday night, June 2nd) we paid a visit as this we were familiar with the cafe and that it was open 24 hours (many restaurants in Reno close earlier at night now, due to pandemic staffing shortages). A local friend who is also “Furry” drove us here, as I flew in and had no car. This was my second time dining at this cafe/restaurant, first time was last year during “Biggest Little Fur Con” at the nearby Grand Sierra Resort (next review). And if you go, look for an older couple in the back corner table by the kitchen. The wild rice one and the clam chowder both had sold out when I got there, indicating those must be a favorite of the locals. But the soups.oh my! Try the Navy Bean, Chicken Noodle or the Chile Verde! All very tasty. Also the Chicken Pot Pie, HUGH, flavorful with large chunks of chicken and potatoes. ![]() Real slices of freshly cooked turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes all very yummy. Of the 4 meals I had here the best was the Turkey Dinner. Brown gravy that I had with the home made mash potatoes one night had kind of a funny taste, reminded me of jet fuel for some reason. Chicken fried steak was good, try it with the poultry gravy instead of the country. I hade the lemonade pork chops, tender, but really just a funky kind of bbq sauce on them. Anyway, the food was large in portions, and adequate, just not anything to write home about. Yeah, made me second guess anything that dude will suggest now. They have a big poster from Diners, Drive ins and Dives at the cashier, and highlighter on their menu was the Lemonade Pork Chops the show's host 'raved about'. Why? Not so much the full meals as it was for. Rarely go to the same place more than once, but found this delightful diner and returned 4 of the 11 nights I was in town. Was here for several nights while working in Reno. ![]()
